Col. Alpha Male is flying high
Default CPU holding @ 100%

Good evening folks, I have been reading posts for the last 3 days and still can't completely fix my problem ( with my computer ). Let me start with what I have; This is an Abit TH7-Raid Mother board with Intel 850 chips, 2.0 ghz - socket 432 - P-IV large processor, 800 mhz FSB - dual channel, 2.0 gig RDRAM memory, 750 Gig HD, ATI Radeon Sapphire 9800 SE 256 MB video card, Cable modem, Windows XP Pro SP3, Limewire 4.18.8, Java 6u11 - 1.6.0_11-b03. I realize my system is a little old but, I do have it upgraded as far as it can be without over clocking it. Also this system has been rock solid since I built it. Now to my Limewire trouble. I have used all the fixes I have found on this forum. I now have only 55 shared files, very few incompletes (60) & have turned off the advanced options in LW. What is happening now is the system is fine until a download completes. When the blue box appears to notify you that a particular dwld is finished, my CPU usages pegs out for 10 seconds or so. Then CPU usage drops to low levels. What happens when I try to listen to an audio file & a download finishes is the file will skip & break up. When the notice goes away things return to normal. FYI if you'ld like to know I also use SpywareBlaster 4.5.1, Spybot S&D 1.5, Pestpatrol 4.4, Winpatrol 10, AVG 7.5, System mechanic 5.0, AdAware 2008, Zonealarm firwall.

Try shutting off the popups so you don't get the notification.

Open LW and go to Tools>Options>View>Popups, then untick the box by "Show Notifications", then click "Apply".

See if that helps.
