Ive read a lot of these where people can not view their downloads. i double click on it and nothing happens, i have to right click and say locate on disk and manually open it. so far all i have read in other posts was to make VLC my default, but it hasnt helped. any ideas? ( only happened after getting LW 5 )

Some people have had probs when trying to play videos with WMP & LW 5 but VLC has fixed it for a few people (I realise it hasn't helped you).
Were you using WMP for video before you tried VLC? If you were - just check your file associations within WMP in case it's still trying to associate with video files. In WMP go tools > options > file types. Untick the video formats that you don't want WMP to play > apply > ok. After that, try previewing or launching with VLC & see if things are any better. Do audio files launch ok? |

i have the latest wmp and dont see where it says that, no audio files dont work either

I don't have WMP 11 installed (I have 10) but see if this helps to find the tools menu: In Windows Media Player 11, how do I get to the tools menu?
