Exclamation For all Limewire users

I am not and never have been a Limewire user, but I would like people to know what limewire really is. I have experience with the internal workings of windows, and have learned that Limewire installs spyware on the user's PC called a "rootkit" which creates a backdoor on your computer, enabling the software to access your computer and find files stored on your computer which match other users requests. the problem is that it is possible for a hacker to use it to get into your computer and modify the limewire files to allow them complete control of your computer, including but not limited to: copying all of your keystrokes: PIN Numbers, credit card numbers, social security numbers, usernames, passwords, etc; Your computer could also be used to send spam by sending a copy of itself to everyone in your address book. In addition your computer may become a zombie - one of many computers being controlled by a central computer, and forced to do what ever the "boss" computer does. There are safe alternatives such as eMule, which is also portable and is totally safe.

Erm .. you have 'never' used LW but make such a wild claim? LW program when downloaded from the 'Official' site has no such spyware, malware or anything of that nature. However, if people download files with viruses .... that is the same issue that applies to all p2p sharing networks.

I think you need to research your so-called assumptions a little bit more before making such claims. lol emule suffers the same issue, depends what people download, & pretending emule is any safer is being highly ignorant of p2p sharing programs & networks overall. Some of us have used many p2p sharing networks over the years.
