windows med pl. won't play my LW/wmp songs
 

when i download music, it frequently comes up wmp format. i haven't figured out how to play these songs yet. when i click play, my wind med p. pops up then it says downloading media usage rights then i get a advertisment for some program they want you to download. i've tried everything i can think of to fix this prob and failed. does anyone know how to fix this:bangh: :eek::eek: :confused: i have wind.xp and my lime wire is working with i tunes with no problems there. much of the music i find i can't listen to because my limewire and my itunes won't play it. i've searched for a solution on the net and i went thru the LW manual with no success i've made a mistake the format that keeps comming up is called wma

Don't d/load .wma files. You should filter .wma from your search results, by going into the lw Options. Stick with .mp3 & .m4a. and you should be ok.

Which version of LW are you using, 4. or 5. ?

Sounds to me like you are downloading spam. Usually only spam will set up & connect to a url within the WMA DRM abilities. Virus thread: Typical virus spam file sizes - Make a note of them (click on blue link to see) for most common but not all spam sizes.

you can of course put wma in the word filter if you do not wish it. Direct instructions to eliminate porn & other marketing junk from results
