Firewall and Win 7 Op problems I just had to re-install Limewire Pro after my OS was upgraded to Win 7. LW keeps saying i am behind a firewall even tho i have turned off McAfee and Windows firewalls. I have been searching the forums for days and am at a complete loss what to do next. Please...any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. OH...using LW PRo v. 4.109 Last edited by jrzycty; July 4th, 2009 at 07:37 PM. |

Does it say that the firewall is preventing Limewire from working or just that "Limewire has detected a firewall". Because if it's the latter that's normal and doesn't mean that the firewall is blocking your access to the outside world. Maybe it's just connection problems (how many green bars are showing in the "connection strength" area?) you may just have to replace the gnutella.net file which a lot of the time seems to be the most consistent problem. |

No need to turn both firewalls off. Add LW to the firewall exceptions of your Windows firewall, adding both TCP & UDP sub-rules exceptions. You may need a fresh gnutella.net file as RobertR suggested. Bottom of this link's page: If LW 4 Will Not Connect (click on the blue link) |
