Hmm...A few things come to mind. First off without knowing what version of LW your using, may be an issue.

If you are using WMP to burn your files, then this in itself is a BIG issue as DRM comes into play. I'll ALWAYS advise against using WMP (Microsoft) and iTunes ( Apple). Including iPods, Zune media players, iPhones and anything else Apple and Microsoft can Monopolize.

In LW, see how you have the license agreement checked. Been a Looong time since I've used LW so you need to use the forum 'Search" function to get more info on this subject.

Good Luck and .

Default Copyright

I have the latest FREE Limewaren 5.3.6. I'm use Vista and I use Windows Media Center to burn my CD's. With Windows Media Center, the files come from WMP. All of the files are MP3 files. In Limeware, I chose NOT to have copyright material available to me. When you put copyright material into WMP it won't record on the CD. I'm stuck. All I do with WMP is make a playlist. What do I need to do>? I can't tell you how much I appreciate your response. I did a search on this and saw stuff that came in 2008. You responded to those also. Thanks so much for any help you can give me.

Hi Helen,

There are a multitude of free alternative players available to use other than WMP, and everyone has their favorite.

This is what I use and prefer.

The player: Winamp Media Player - MP3, Multimedia, and Music Player

The Burning Program: burrrn.net - The home of Burrrn and Mr QuestionMan Downloads

Here is a nice list of alternative players you may take a look at for both audio and video.

CODECs list for Movies/Audio/ Alternate players / Video help forums/ video-mp3 fixers

Hope this helps.

mp3's are not protected per se AFAIK. WMA & m4p files were files purchased over the internet & have protection to prevent them being burnt by other people. These files should not be shared but some do. I'd suggest you try to stay away from wma & m4p files. m4a files are generally ok. And besides, over a year ago Apple supposedly dropped their DRM restrictions on their online files hoping others like M$ would do the same.
