The one important thing I did miss from my list, number 5 if you will, was that XP still has a huge number of installed users.
I must say that I totally agree with Blackhorse 70V when he said:

It has taken a long time, almost 7 years, to get my XP installed PC to the point where it does everything I want it to do. The simple fact is that by trying to install Vista or Windows 7 on my PC would jeopardise my current facilities without adding anything beneficial in return.
For example, as far as I know, Vista does not have the ability to send faxes, something that I often use, therefore in order to use Vista I would have to ditch my fax software and my internal dial-up modem (there's no Vista driver for it). I would then have to source new fax software (possible) and a new Vista compatible dial-up modem (nearly impossible).
You know, just because MS and their cronies says that some facilities are too old to bother with that does not mean that they are no longer used in the REAL world.
