Hello... I just updated my limewire, and went into my library... and it was empty. I had hundreds of songs downloaded... how can I get these back?!?!?!

hi angel there is a way to possibly get some if your songs back by using a undelete program a good one is recuva you can get it here Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download theres other free ones but i like this one good luck.

actually, I bet those files are still on the Hard Disk Drive (HDD)....most likely they got 'lost' when a new version of LW was installed...

I suggest first going to Start>Search>Pictures, music, or video>enter in a song you know you had...try a few times for various files you acquired...

if there are results, the will be in the same folder...now you've (hopefully) found the folder where all of those files are and can deal with the situation as you please....move them to another folder, direct LW to that folder as a shared folder..etc...

good point didn't think about that it probably created another folder for the saved files sense they weren't actually deleted

Did you update to 5.3.6?

Providing you've searched & found where the files are saved, make a note of the location of that folder.

To add that folder to LW's library... click on Library tab > click on Add Files.

Browse for the folder with songs in it > highlight that folder > click on 'Add Files' in the dialog box.

Files should now be added to your library.

If you want those files to also be shared, add the files (or whole folder if you like) to the Public Shared list in the same way that you added files to your library.

thanks everyone... I found it. I downloaded to the newest version, then found all of the old music on the C drive (in some shared folder), then copied it all to the new library. What a relief!
