Default Router configurations and testing.

I'll start with my specs.
Im running LimeWire Pro ver. 4.8.1 on Windows XP SP 1. with a cable connection. With sp1 I have my XP firewall disabled.
In addition, I'm using a D-Link DI-604 router.

My question is: Should I be accessing my router setup page to initiate any changes that will maximize my ability to up/download and is there any way to test or otherwise judge the effectiveness of these changes.

Thanks.

I believe the D-Link DI-604 will have UPnP abilities & thus should be enabled. I have heard a couple of complaints UPnP doesn't always work well on D-Link, so always consider manual port forwarding also; http://www.portforward.com/english/r...2/Limewire.htm

For Di-Link UPnP info then see the UPnP section here: Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link)

Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?
