i tryed to dowload something but it was to long so i dowloaded another one and deleted the original but now everytime i open up limewire its there trying to download .it wont die

the next time it tries to download, right click on it and cancel it.
then go to ur "incomplete" folder and delete it from there.

I already did that and it dosent work

I'm guessing someone is trying to upload the file, although it's incomplete, I would try removing uploads then deleting the file. If that still doesn't correct the problem I would suggest doing a full uninstall of limewire, this means removing it from it either by all programs or add/remove programs, remove all java updates and the java runtime environment, then remove all files and folders from progam files including incomplete folder (which will either be located in C:, My Documents or Desktop, then reinstall Limewire (Java will install with installation of Limewire).

Yep I would also be along the same lines as dreamtech, ie: close LW, then see these tips: Incomplete Download File won't delete at all (click on link)

(BTW Dreamtech which part of Aus do you come from if you don't mind me asking?)

I would try deleting the incomplete folder and maybe preference folder before doing a clean install.

Sounds like a FU downloads.dat file to me (it's the heart of the incomplete folder)
