Any advise for downloading a movie?

I looked for a specific movie, & I thought I did it right, but only porn came up. I couldn't even read some of the titles, they were so... ewww! :yikes: :nono:

I read somewhere about Bizit or something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tips:

1. Direct instructions to eliminate porn from results

2. Movie download issues

3. Beware of Fake files in search results, & also this http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...56&postcount=2

Thank you Lord for your quick reply. I will try it.

I'm back & I tried it with good results, I actually feel that I know what I'm doing, lol.

I have read some more trying to find out what the difference between T3 or higher, Cable/DSL & Modem in relation to me downloading, if theres a particular one I should choose. Also what mpg avi mp4 is. Should I worry about which one to choose?

Lord of the Rings November 29th, 2006 02:47 PM

All links relate to speeds within LW: (1) What speeds are T1/T3, etc. for LW, _____ (2) More on LW connection speeds by Verdyp.

T3 is the fastest & if you have similar to those speeds then it will give you an advantage setting it thus in regards to downloads.

I don't know why I couldn't find these links, thank you again. I'm learning alot. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks, lol.

:xirokrotima:

We will know in 6 hours & 20 minutes if my first ever movie download has worked, lol. Thank you Limewire.

MrsVege November 29th, 2006 03:46 PM

I think the one I chose was a 'fake file'. It had the dots before the mpg, & when I figured out how to browse host, it was full of porn, so.... ???

I think I found a safe one this time. I will get back to you later on in the day.

Lord of the Rings November 29th, 2006 03:58 PM

Don't get confused just because it has a lot of dots. "sometimes" that simply means that the file title is longer than the area you have to allow for a filename so the end of the file name has a ... representing there is more in the file name. If you hover your cursor over the filename in LW, then the entire name will display. If you still see ... in the yellow contextual menu then it's a fake.

Okie Dokie... download complete. I know its the right one because I found the preview button, lol, & it came up in the Windows Media Player. Thank you for all your good advise to get me this far.

Now I have created another question.

How do I put it on a disk? Am I allowed?

I use DVD Shrink & DVD Decypter. I can't seem to find the file even though I know where it is. Its got me baffled.

Their good apps but you need to convert the files and burn them...
Try http://www.dvdsanta.com it's so easy to use...The Demo version is great, it has no time limits, the only thing it has is a demo message at the top of the screen in your output video, but you can overcome this by zooming in a frame with your dvd remote...

If you have any troubles with it, just let me know, I will be able to help you sort them out....:rolleyes_2:

MrsVege November 30th, 2006 02:59 AM

I will try the dvdsanta in the morning & get back to you. I'm a bit worried about my 'input video', I didn't know I had one, & also the zooming bit... what remote?

Don't answer these please, I just want to laugh about it later when I 'do' understand it.

:xirokrotima:

wondering why November 30th, 2006 10:35 AM

I've just got to tell you...

The output video is the the movie once it's burnt to the disk....
The remote is your dvd player's remote control...

I hope I didn't spoil all your fun...:rolleyes_2:

MrsVege November 30th, 2006 01:45 PM

Good Morning. No fun spoilt, lol. :bangh:

I'm still not sure about the 'remote'. I don't have a remote control for the computer dvd, & I don't think you're talking about the one on the T.V. but I'm downloading the dvdsanta now so I guess I'll find out all about it shortly, lol.

edit: O.K. dvdsanta is open, the "Add Media" is up on the lefthand side, the 'Add Subtitles" is halfway, with the DVD Video Folder under that with choices under that.

I will try to find some reading on it.

edit: I couldn't find anything to read, so I just followed my nose & I think I've done it right. I think I should have made it widescreen though. I've watched those movies where there are 2 people sitting at the table, & all I can see is the table ornament & their noses, lol.

There's 16 minutes to go. I'll be back with another edit soon.

Lord of the Rings November 30th, 2006 03:09 PM

Remote control will refer to the dvd remote control for TV. It allows you to set options for it. But I can't answer anything about DVDSanta because I've never used it.

wondering why November 30th, 2006 03:10 PM

I'm talking about your dvd player that hooks up to your TV, not the computer dvd...
When you have burnt the disc and you go to watch the movie on your tv...get the dvd remote and press the zoom button once or twice and that way you will get rid of the small print at the top of the screen...:rolleyes_2:

MrsVege November 30th, 2006 03:47 PM

LMAO!!! My remote has so many buttons on it. I stress so bad if I press any other than the norm. things come up all over the screen & I've got no idea what to do, lol.

Well it sort of worked, lol. The print at the top & bottom disappeared after awhile. I couldn't quite get the hang of the sound being 30 seconds in front of the actions.

I don't need to burn it, I can watch it on the computer.

The dvdsanta was very easy to use, thank you ww.

edit: Lmao, I only had an hour of the movie to watch, it's not complete. Never mind, I don't really need to download movies, I just wanted to try it to see how hard it was. It doesn't seem very hard, just a few perks & quirks to get around.

I will stick to the tunes, as I can still get a few of them once my download limit in inforce again.

Thank you for the experience in 'Movies', lol.

Oh no not the audio out of sync, now that's a problem that does my head in at times...It seems to be happening more and more lately as well...
I was using Nero and that happened to me all the time, that's why I went back to santa...But just the other week I had a file do that to me with santa..

ps...It doesn't happen all the time and I really don't know if it's a codec thing or something else...:rolleyes_2:
