limewire has never worked for me

i've been trying and trying for days to get limewire to work for me. i have no problem downloading it, but there is only one green bar for the connection and a firewall is present. i've been on this site constantly, doing what other posts have said to do(downloading the new version of java, enabling port-forwarding with my linksys router) but nothing seems to work. i have no idea what to do or how computers work. will someone please help me, and in terms i can understand(i'm not tech. savvy)?

I am having the EXACT same problem... no prob downloading limewire.. but thats where the simplicity ends. One green bar in the bottom corner, firewall is present. I tried downloading songs and no results came up. Can someone help?? I am not very computer savvy either so simple terms would work. I am using Windows Vista. Thanks!!

ok i tried the shareaza... downloaded songs, but they arent appearing in the desginated folder, so i can only play them from the program. did u experience this?!?
