Hey guys,
I have a sharing folder and 5 songs which i want so "share." I edited each songs details and everything was ready. I went through all of the setting to make sure everything should work. Then I went on anothe computer in my house's network and went on to that computers limewire, searched for the songs i put on and it showed up and i downloaded them on that computer.

I then told my friends to download those 5 songs so they searched the exact same things and nothing showed up for then. I then went back to the limewire at my house, searched for the songs and it worked but said they were on an ethernet network. I understand that an ethernet network is a LAN network.

I am stuck, what should I to let anyone in the world download these songs?

I also don't understand the whole "uploading" thing on limewire. How do u upload songs, dont u just put them in your sharing folder. I looked at older forum posts and people say to go to tools<Upload but when I go to tools, upload isnt an option.

With LW, all you do is make files available for others to download. When someone chooses a file they want, you will start uploading it to them.

Do you see a brick wall in front of the globe in the bottom left corner of the LW interface? That could indicate a firewall problem.

Also, do your friends have a firewall problem?

If files are on the same LAN, you should see blue stars instead of the usual yellow stars. You will also get extremely fast download speeds.

Tools...options...uploads

This will allow you to choose how much bandwidth you will devote to uploads and how many upload slots you will allow.
