Like some other reports, I am unable to connect to the new Limewire program 4.12.15. I mistakenly deleted my old program (which was Limewire Pro, but I don't have any receipts on this) and since downloading the above 4.12.15, it only opens for an instant, then closes. I have read and tried to find .limewire in my system, but get no search result. Can you please help me use this program. Thanks

If LW isn't opening

Have you recently updated Java? Some people have had this problem with LW not opening after updating to Java 1.6.0_01 & _02. Try this version of Java instead. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version(s) before you install this one.

Next, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.

If LW's still not opening, try changing compatibility (point 5 in the 'fixes' thread).

You might not have a .limewire folder If you've only used recent versions of LW then your preferences folder (that's what the .limewire folder is) could be in the new location of
C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Application Data\LimeWire

Thank you for your help. What I have done is downloaded the newer version that I noticed when visiting Limewire, and that is working perfectly. Glad to know that you are there though if there are any other problems. It's like having an old friend back now that its working. Thanks
