The files are saved on your HDD. While in Limewire, click on the library tab. Now click the Explore tab; bottom left corner. This will take you to your shared/save folder outside of Limewire.
This is also where you want to be to load your mp3 player. You should be able to drag and drop once you have the player pluged in.

Texas, thank you!
Thank you Texas, for some reason I highlighted my selections and enqued them to the MP3 player list thinking I had to go there before transfering them to either my mp3 or my desktop. It never occured to me to "explore."
