Unhappy i cant open limewire - help please!!

Hi everyone!!

i've just got myself a new laptop a few weeks ago and i downloaded limewire and used it once that evening and it was working beautifully. since i shut down my laptop, limewire has not been opening properly, i get the initial start up box but it gets stuck at 12% and then doesnt move. i have to stop it in task manager.

i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times on a few different days. as far as i can see i've done the same as i did in the first instance.

i'm not very knowledgable about anti virus/spyware/firewalls but i think i've set them all so limewire is allowed

I'm getting really frustrated with it!! Help!!!

I'm guessing because it's a new laptop you have Vista ??

If you do follow these steps they have worked for many..

I have exactly the same problem as above - previously tried v 4.14.8 and now v4.14.10 but exactly the same problem exists in that release despite me being told that v4.14.10 was fully vista compatible - any thoughts please

now read the "saved folder" message and it solved the problem - thanks

Did you try the fix in the link I provided in the above post ??
If you did and had no success, try these fixes...

Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

Try deleting your preference folder/s...This will reset your configurations back to default and get rid of any corruption that may of happened...
Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should
LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista

If you still have no luck could you supply these details please...

For about a week I couldn't connect--my firewall blocked it. Suddenly tonight it's working. What's up?
