Setup Wizard glitch
 

Hi, I'm trying to get Limewire 4.12.6 and its making me crazzy. I downloaded it, the Icon is on my desktop and when I click it it takes me into Setup Wizard. I go thru about 5 steps then the Box doesn't show "Next,Finish,Cancel etc on bottom so I hit "Enter" on my keyboard. Now I'm at Scan Hard Drive. I hit "Enter and it all goes away . No Lime Wire, Its showing in My Programs, Limewire and Uninstall Limewire but it only keeps coming up to Setup Wizard??????? Please help???

Birdy, I checked the Font size and thats "Normal", I can't figure this out...must have tried 5or 6 times. I've uninstalled, re-installed, etc. I have Java installed so its not that.

Any reason why you want that older version?
Where did you download LW from? The only official site for download is Lime Wire » Official Website & Free Download, BitTorrent « & they only offer the latest version for download (only Mac users can download old versions)...the latest is 4.14.12.
If you're downloading LW from another site, try going to the official site instead & make sure to use the offline installer...when you click to download the installer, cancel the dialog box which pops up. Now use the option to download the offline installer.

If that doesn't help, try reinstalling Java. Use the JRE offline installer & remove any other versions of Java that you have installed (thru Add/Remove Programs) before installing the new one:)

Birdy, I have the older version on my daughters laptop and always liked it. i was able to download any music! The newer versions have not allowed me to dl what I like to listen too. I dl ver 4.12.6 from olderversions.com

Uninstall the version that you have now (start > all programs > limewire > use the uninstall option). Next, download ccleaner & run that.

The link below is to a version of 4.12.6 that I've hosted...download that one & see whether that installs (just in case there's some corruption in the version that you're downloading from oldversions):)
