When you use LW, you connect to the Gnutella network...a network of computers which are sharing files. The network's made up of users like you & me.
Anybody who's using a Gnutella client (a program like LW, BearShare, Morpheus, Phex etc) connects to the Gnutella network for their file sharing...you choose which files you want to share & then they're shared on the network, for other people to download.

If you're not connected properly, have a look here for some fixes to try. If you're new to LW & file sharing, don't panic - just go through the fixes slowly & there are links to other threads with more info. If you still can't connect, post back with your system details...the thread here has info about the details that we need.

im still confused. i went to the links. the last one tells me to go through some steps, but i dont understand some. some dont make any sense.

Go to Start > click on My Computer > double click on Documents and Settings > double click on the folder with your username > double click on Application Data. Now look for a folder named LimeWire. This folder named LimeWire is your preferences folder. You need to open the LimeWire folder by double clicking on it.

how do i do this? no where does it say application data

Edit: Pleease don't post in other threads...I just replied here about you not being able to find App Data...now I see you've found it. Keep all of your posts here.

Did you delete LW's preferences folder? Did you try the older version of Java as well as the latest version? You need to give us your system details.
