limewire wont even open up!

so when i clicked on the limewire icon on my comp, it said that i needed java runtime environment 5.0 or above. i downloaded java runtime environment 6.0 and it still pops up that it needs java to start up. anyone got any tips cause im fixin to punch a hole right through that icon
