Hi oldbiker,

If you don't like the new LW 5, you can go back to LW 4.18.8
Click on this blue link for that info: Your LimeWire 5 refuses to install due to Java 6 error or it says there is nothing to instal? Get LW 4.18
That link refers to Mac users but the page is the same for Windows users.

If you have a current Pro membership, you can go to your Pro download page (you would have got an email from LW with a link to that page, after you bought Pro) & click on 'Get LimeWire Classic' on the left hand side of the page - then you'll be able to download a LW 4.18.8 installer

If you're still using LW 5, you can stop songs from going to iTunes by going (in LW) tools > options > downloads. Untick the box to add files automatically to iTunes > click 'ok'.

Click on these links below for more info about which files to avoid (ie spam & infected files) & tips for finding good files.
Virus thread: Typical virus spam file sizes - Make a note of them (click on blue link to see)

How to find music

The best thing that you can do is make sure that you have a good antivirus program installed. Keep that AV updated & use it to scan every file that you download, before you open the file.
