Ultra newby:Using Ubuntu 8.10- I have downloaded a file (******) and is now showing up on my desktop but i cant figure out how to do anything with it.I ultimately want to try a dual boot just to see whats new.This might be the wrong forum for this kind of question but im tossing it out there for any advice or direction.

Unfortunately your question does fall into the Warez discussion area which is disallowed via forum rules. At least to be discussed publicly. If any one has any advice they might PM you privately.
![]() I would highly recommend you scan that file with an anti-virus & other security programs before you try to do anything with it. Generally that type of file needs to be burnt to disk so it boots the machine. oops. sorry cannot say anything else, and I am only a mac user.
