Default New to Limewire, need help! (how to upload files)

From what I can tell Limewire is a place where users can upload and download files correct? So how do I upload files? Like if I have a cd and I want to upload songs from there to limewire how would I do that? Also I heard a friend (not a reliable one) say that I could take youtube videos and upload them to limewire as an audio file (I've seen them when I download some songs, such as "YouTube Zombie Map Pack 3 Video") how do I do that?

you put files in your shared folder, simple as that...its location is specified in the tools part of the program (tools>options>sharing I believe)...there are no central servers, only your machine acting as a server for the files you have shared, and of course its only connected to the network (and hence files available to others) when you have LW running

btw..wtf was your first post doing in the Phex section?

Default Thanks, BTW 1 more question

thank you for helping me, i have to purchase the full limewire in order to get customer support and I could not figure it out on my own. I had no idea where I was posting in the first post, wtf is Phex? So I could just go to my favorites folder and copy my youtube videos to this shared folder and it would upload? could I set it to be an audio file instead of a video file? I just burn songs from limewire to a blank cd to listen to on my cd player... so that would be helpfull for me.

Phex is an alternative gnutella network sharing program. I use both Phex & LW.

To share files in LW it's quite easy. Just drag & drop files or folders onto the Public Shared icon at top left of LW's window. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/gettin...w-5-2-8-a.html To prepare files for sharing, rip them to WAV, then convert them to mp3; a high Variable Bit Rate is best.
