My Mac is too old. Anything I can do? I tried downloading LimeWire, and it downloaded it and installed fine. The problem came when I tried to open the application. It told me that my Java was not a new enough version, so I tried installing a new update of it. That didn't work. It still didn't open. Then I went to the FAQ on the website, and it told said that if you were running on a PowerPC processor it wouldn't work. I am. Is there any way to download a different version of LimeWire to avoid this problem? ~KK |

I'm not a Mac user, but check out this thread (click on link) & see whether anything helps: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/mac-os...link-here.html |

I'll help you the best I can but I'll need you to post some information about your Mac if you feel comfortable enough with that for me to be able to help you to the best of my abilities. Top left of your screen on your mac you should see a little apple, click on this. then click about this Mac It should pop up with a box in that will be your the model... ie Mac OS x 10.5. whatever update you happen to have if its an older Mac its probably not going to be those numbers but that will allow me to see the newest version of java you capable of installing on that computer and then the newest version of LW you can install I had to do the same for a family member so I can link you the site if you can tell me the software your running |

Thanks for the offer, but I already figured it out. I just had to download an older version of LW. I'm pretty certain there's no way to install the newest version on a 10.4.11 running on a PowerPC processor. In fact, I think it said that flat out in the FAQ. Again, thanks for trying. =) ~KK |
