apuddleduck is flying high
Default can't view burned dvd's

very new to all of this but hoping for some real help.....i have downloaded several movies from limewire ...they play fine on my computer but i want to burn them and play them in my dvd player....not happening...every time i burn one i get an error message on my dvd player saying something about not being able to search this disc and to eject it...HELP really would like to watch these movies:aweof :

uh huh...and are you burning a data disc (i.e. simply burning the .avi/mpg file to the disc) or are you transcoding it to DVD format (.vob files)?

if the former then you would have to have a DVD player capable of playing divx movies...if the latter then perhaps you are using a disc that is not compatible with your player..

no i'm not putting it into any kind of format....just burning it ...so what do i do?

The discs you already burned can play in your computer because your computer can handle a variety of formats, unlike your DVD player.

You need software to burn the disc for DVD (.vob) format. You probably got free software that came with your DVD burner. If not, then you can find free burners via a google search. When burning, make sure you select DVD format.
