can't view burned dvd's

very new to all of this but hoping for some real help.....i have downloaded several movies from limewire ...they play fine on my computer but i want to burn them and play them in my dvd player....not happening...every time i burn one i get an error message on my dvd player saying something about not being able to search this disc and to eject it...HELP really would like to watch these movies
