Just to clarify; I DO know that if the guy on the other end disconnects, the download will fail(duh!), it's just that it seems to gradually "fade away", that's all.

Could it be because the host is allowing a lot of people to download from him, and that more and more people are connecting, until in the end the bandwidth is gone?

Personally I only allow one or two uploads at a time, one upload per user. That way that one person(or two) get all my upload bandwidth, and I have more control over what's happening.
