Did someone got Gnotella crashed on first launch and what did you do to stop it?

Yeah, I'm having the same problem here. Uninstalled old versions (and toasted any registry key as well) and re-installed and still having problems.

I had the same problem when I tried to run it for the first time while I was connected to the internet. I disconnected, ran the program, then reconnected and it worked fine.

I installed gnotella and promtly crashed.Have not been able to run program.

Could you please post details given on the crash and your operating system, IE version, etc. I am guessing most people with this problem are running Win95 and I have found it requires three things to run Gnotella:
IE5.0 or greater
Winsock2 Update
Winsock2 Y2K Update

Since you have now discovered that you need to have at least IE 5.0, you should at least update the system requirements page. Also, post a link to version 0.9.9 so that I can use something that doesn't rely upon junk from a program I don't want anything to do with.

what for does gnotella need ie5?

I don't know what all this talk about IE-5 is all about. I don't have any version of IE on my machine and Gnotella runs just fine.
