gnotella crashes

everytime i use gnotella, it mysteriously crashes and reboots my machine. this only happens when i am connected to the network. the more servers i am connected to, the faster it crashes. this has happened to me ever since version .9.9 when i started using gnotella. this also happens to me when using bearshare. any ideas?
