Proxy(http) connection

my computer is part of a lan network and i'm using the internet connection of one of the computers serving as a proxy server(firewall). The problem is that since i do it this way gnutella (or the clones like gnotella) won't establish a connection and therefore won't function anymore. How do I connect???
