It's not true to say unregistered users are bad in general. If you can't meet (unregistered) people with respect and friendlines, then there is nothing I want to add to your friendly voice.

Re: well.

If, as you say, you have been around a while, perhaps you could use your long experience in attempting to post as registered. Many of us have been 'around for a while'. The real ones post as registered.
Sorry if this seems offensive to you, but you are in no position to complain as unregistered.

Was I complaining? I'm glad someone saw the irony in my post. (thank you Morgwen).
But I have to agree with Mamiyaotaru in this particular thread. Give me absolutes, and clear hard facts please. You don't have to use Bearshare. There will always be a loyal few...and those are to the program, not Vinnie...I'm sure. Obviously, it works for them.
I stand by my statement that I did not see that particular comment as a flame to Gnucleus. Hell, It's Vinnie's board...he could have deleted the thread and gotton the same amount of grief he got by responding to it.
Guess I should not have referred to Kutulus as a "troll"? I've called him worse when he was thumping for Bearshare. I know his history. He (finally) lost his VIP status when he posted anti-Gay garbage on BS.net.....I believe that thread was deleted (as it should have been)
Vinnie could release all the bearshare code, swear off spyware forever, and write P2P in his spare time and people would still hate his guts.
sorry 'bout the comment of Swabby learning a few things - but, hey, you never know

I'm still as unreal as I was as "unregistered"
...

:p

A little bit off topic but it seems that Vinnie is able to critic other developers I remember Konrad Haenel (Phex) and Xolox, because of their auto-requeries, he suggested to block them...

Lets see how he is doing the job:

Should we block him now too? :)

according to Vinnie we must now flood all forums and the GDF, tell them how bad Bearshare is! also we must step to Gnutella protocol v0.8 immediately, because v0.6 clients are so oldfashioned; plus we need to shut down v0.6 support in all host caches tommorow and cluster v0.8 clients because of great new functionality and some important statistics (nobody knows which). Limewire will tell us that it's a great idea and do the same the day after tomorrow. Afisk will explain dezailed why this step was necesarry and add some wit and charm.

Oh, but Swabby is a nice guy, so let's just ignore Vinnie. :D

Yes, block Bearshare because of a bug in setup in the Alpha release.

If you're itching to block someone, block this fricking Qtrax that keeps requesting a file from me that I don't have anymore once per dam second hours after I deleted it.

This statement is irony... I suggested this because Vinnie has done the same with Phex and Xolox... he suggested to block them!

Yes he didnīt wanted to wait until they "fixed" it. Vinnie should sometimes think about his "suggestions".

Morgwen, man, you've posted that same thread on every forum I've been to - and got the same response.

Your posts are usually useful or at least innocuous, but jeez man, give it up! It's an Alpha for christ's sake, if it's got bugs it's got bugs! Yeah ok it shouldn't be public blah blah... But wait until the final one is released and THEN slag it off. I'm sure there'll be plenty on it for you to go on about.

Don't take this personally OK? You know I don't have a problem with you ;)

Morgwen May 30th, 2002 07:32 AM

Yes I got some responsens from the alpha testers...

like Sanelson and Kaapeli, I know them from bearshare.net...

I think its funny if an other client do this the same people slag them of but if bearshare does it its Ok! In which world we live?

Roam,

why should I give up to show that Vinnie is "only" a human beeing and that he makes the same faults as the other developers he is badmouthing daily.

Fair play is the way to go!

Morgwen, you know as well as I do that Vinnie is not one of my favourite people, but I just thought you were escalating this too much on a personal level by engaging in a cross-site crusade against him.

Seems like a little too much of a "see? see? I was right, see?" kinda thread.

Just my personal opinion.
