Default dummy questions

2 questions from a beginner who's too stupid to read directions:

1) I think I may have downloaded a client (is that the right term?) from an old resource. I'm using "gnutella v0.56". Is that a decent/current version? Is there a better one (i.e. simpler)?

2) I searched for my mp3's, found them, selected them and downloaded them. There were 6 in total. Almost immediately, 2 files were placed in the download queue. I have 4 remaining with "requested" status. What does this mean? It doesn't seem like anything is happening? Even the o2 in the download queue don't seem to actually be downloading. What's going on here?

Thanks.

ck

Yes this is a very old client - you should update it. Try one of these...

http://www.gnucleus.com/
http://www.limewire.com/

Both are gnutella clients despite the different names. Gnucleus is more powerful, but LimeWire is very easy to use.

Sometimes the person sharing the MP3's program may be busy, but the old clients don't work well for retrys. You'll probably have better luck with one of the newer ones.
