Can't connect in BearShare
Hi, I'm new to the forum, but hope someone can give me some tips: I can use BearShare fine at work (!), but at home with v. 2.3, i cannot get connected (no Zonealarm or other firewall installed)... In the "Host" window, "Public.bearshare.net" keeps "trying" and getting "refused" and in Search window, at bottom it says, repeatedly, "You aren't connected to the network yet" and "Please wait while connection stabilizes", but it never does. I used to use Napster fine, and even Bearshare some time ago. I'm running Win2000 on a Dell XPS T450.
Anyone who's more savvy than I have any ideas for me? Oh, and in "Connection Setup", Port is 6346. Don't know if that's the problem, but no idea what other port(s) to try... Thanks for any help! chezoik

add these hosts under setup/service: connect1.bearshare.net connect2.bearshare.net connect3.bearshare.net connect1.gnutellanet.com:6346 connect2.gnutellanet.com:6346 connect3.gnutellanet.com:6346 connect4.gnutellanet.com:6346 Morgwen

hmm
I just read over this again and wonder why no limewire programmers commented on this. I know its fixed now and all seems well. But i dont think vinnie posted this to be an *** but to make the network a better place, remembering when i would click those gray bars and hoped it wasnt busy..
sorry for posting about old topics.. i have nothing really better to do..  Becker
