Need help with a connection problem

I can't seem to get bearshare to connect these days.Its constantly showing the red light of not connected.I have changed my settings but to no avail.Bearsgare doesn't even searches,if a search for something it gives "Queued" in the search results pane but the search never starts.I want to know if its a problem with my settings or my Internet connection.Emule and torrents are also not working as they also do not connect.However there is no problem with surfing speed as i can surf through internet without problem.Now i'm bit confused about this problem.Can someone help me out with this problem and how to solve it.

BTW i'm using a broadband LAN connection if it helps to diagnose the problem.

Did you configurate your firewall to allow BS accessing the network??

You can go to Setup>Options>Connection and look at the bottom for the listening port. Use this to config. your firewall as explained in the link "Connection Problems? Click here first"

bear share was running fine 3-4 days ago then suddenly this problem has occured.I have configured everything that i can but still it doesn't connect.

It is time to switch to another ISP.
This one is obviously blocking P2P.

hiya i have been using lime wire for ages
but all of a sudden wen i go to download a film file it says connecting but then nothing happens,, this is only occuring on certain ones
can anyone help?

frewy32 this is the BearShare section of the forums. It's a different program. To answer your question, you have probably located spammed fake files in their hundreds. Instead, choose those with only 20 or 10 or less sources from the search results. You'll find them further down in the search results.
