Default Strange BearShare handshake

Bearshare only appears to give out addresses of clients using ports 6346/6348. I see it in pings and x-tries. Has anyone else seen this? I've verified on a few hundred bearshare clients:

Handshake from two random bearshares:

Default

I'm not that technical, but I've never been able to connect other than thru ports 6346 and 6348. I use port-forwarding with my Linksys router and properly set the firewall exceptions in WinXP.
