Try steps 1 & 2 here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/host-c...bearshare.html ie: making sure only one firewall is active & BearShare with both TCP & UDP exceptions on the firewall. And replacing your connection cache.

I'm not sure if that version had UPnP support for access via the router.

If still problems, try the v.5 beta mentioned there. If you try this version & still problems, port forward your billion router. Setting up Static ip address for XP first, then here http://portforward.com/routers.htm & find your model then the instructions for Bearshare. This one might or might not be your model Port Forwarding BearShare on the Billion BiPAC-7300GA

you have to use the bearstart utility to use the expired beta....

your isp, no matter what they are saying, seems a tad off to me: get-oneprice-adsl-for-only-R169.cybersmart.co.za

if you really don't care what client you use, then I would suggest Phex, which is supported on this forum
