How do you use the MAgnet LInks?

I have got v2.9.6 for Mac but if I click on a magnet link on http://www.limewire.com/magnet/pure-magnet.html
I get a message saying "This program does not support the protocol for accessing (file name)". What am I doing wrong?

Also, can I create a magnet link and if so how?
