LimeWire 3.7.7 Beta

We've released the LimeWire 3.7.7 beta, with the pro version available from a link on your pro download page, and the free version available from the LimeWire download page. [edit 1/18: URL changed to point to the beta, not the last stable version]

This version includes many small fixes over 3.6.6. The "Stop" button in 3.7.7 on the search tab has been moved from the lower left of the window to the button row below the search results. This more accurately reflects the fact that the Stop button stops individual searches. This version also improves the handling of your save directory and fixes a large number of smaller issues over 3.6.6.

Windows free users will also enjoy us dropping fewer icons on your desktop with this version.

Thanks for everyone's great help testing the betas! The 3.7 series is stabilizing nicely.

I've reverted to 3.7.6 since 3.7.7 only allowed 24 outgoing UP connections and no leaf nodes to connect even after 8 hours.

3.7.7 did allow better connections to BS UP's, but also reduced my uploads to almost none. I sent in a bug report this morning.

(OS 10.2.8--high port number forwarded through a Linksys lan).

btw Adam--is NIO implemented?

LOL.
Why?
(Happy new year trap_jaw: glad to see you posting actively again. Hope your projects were successful, and LW didn't send the Linux users a Limeshop for Christmas)
Cheers

Frohes neues Jahr, stief (as we would say in Germany).

I'm using Windows XP at the moment. Linux and my new laptop didn't get along too well so I figured I might as well go back to the evil empire. Fortunately LimeWire works on Windows almost as good as on Linux.

My other projects were not quite as successful as I hoped but that's another story.

Yup - I believe something screwy has been introduced in 3.7.7 (possibly 3.7.6) w.r.t. uploads. With 12 upload slots, I'm typically seeing 3-4 active and 9 items queued.

I'm missing something, I guess. I clicked on the link to download the beta 3.7.7. I got the message that it might show 3.6 but the installer would be the correct one. I originally had 3.6.15.

The download went OK and then it installed. BUT the icon on the desktop says 3.6.15 and ABOUT says 3.6.15.

?????
