3.8.5 Update Issue

I tried to update 3.7.3 to 3.8.5. The update downloaded & ran fine but when I ran the program version 3.7.3 ran from the 3.8.5 icon. After fumbling around, uninstalling & reinstalling etc etc I found that by deleting the files in the download cue from 3.7.3 the new version of 3.8.5 installed and ran correctly.
