I am new. I have previously installed LimeWire 4.0.2. I have since had to re-install windows due to a major problem etc.... Since then LW has not worked. I have tried to install LW again but while on the installation page I get the following message:
"Error 1714 - The older version of LimeWire cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group."
Then when I click OK I get the following message:
"Error 1603 - Fatal error during installation. Consult Windows Installer Help (msi.chm) or MSDN for more information."
I have done all this, but I an bombarded with jargon.

Can anyone help? I have tried all other download programmes and I find LW the easiest and the best one to use.

Hi and Welcome to the Gnutella Forums. From that error message it seems that there is an older version of LimeWire or parts of a previous copy of LimeWire on your computer. You should run the uninstaller of LimeWire or search your computer for "LimeWire" and delete anything that has to do with it. Next run the installation again and if it does not work, you could run Windows Update to make sure you have the latest version of Windows. I hope this helps.
