Gee that was quick, less than 24 hrs after 4.1.6 lol Must be getting close to 4.2 The improvements sound good
The beta page still show 4.1.5 lol Who does that job?

Review LimeWire-- http://www.limewire.com/english/content/review.shtml gives "This page is temporarily disabled"

Tell A Friend-- http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...l_friend.shtml shows that it was last updated 05/18/04

FAQ--"LimeWire PRO Specific Questions -- NEW!" Good idea. Hope that cuts down on the forum requests.

Be a good network participant, don't close LimeWire if someone is uploading from you.
The comma should be a colon.

Should be "skins"

Columns you can choose from include, 'Title', 'Genre', 'Track', 'Length', and many more.
The 'from' is unnecessary.

Hmm--maybe add "in the USA?"

The 'hits' column in the Library will count how many times LimeWire has returned a result from someone searching for that file..
Shouldn't this be "someone searching keywords for that file"?

Sometimes the 'search' button is disabled. This happens when LimeWire is not connected to any other hosts. Choose File -> Connect and wait for the bar in the bottom-left corner to fill up.

Sometimes the 'search' button is disabled. This happens when LimeWire is not connected to any other hosts. Choose File -> Connect and wait for the light in the bottom left to glow a steady green.
Are both necessary?

Default new Priority column

The Priority column is turning out to not be very useful. After setting a single file to the top of a 40-file list three times, it jumped back down whenever its status changed. It would be more useful if it could
--remember queue position between sessions
--remember queue position between changes in status
--control-clicking the queue buttons could jump a file to the top of the queue (clicking a file to move it up 40 lines is a pain).

Is Priority only intended to work with the Pause Downloads?

Hey! How come this thread's so dead????

To add insult to injury, now limewire.com is telling me to use a "real browser" Well--sniff--I never!

Fine! I'll just take my Safari somewhere else

Seriously though--limewire.org looks a mess from outside. No Jira, bug reports, and waaaay outdated opensource credits page. I hope all is well.

4.1.7 looks pretty good (though VM has more than doubled to 1.13GB over the past 18hrs). I haven't tried to "browse host" . . . so something else is stopping LW from being an app I can run for more than 24 hrs.

btw--accessing the sample bug report after 12 hrs is one way to get the HD to thrash and LW to hang (shown in Activity monitor).

Well, off to try jum 355 and browsing/ethernet connections.

installed the new beta limewire 4.1.7 and it's asking me to upgrade to pro "AGAIN"...
I am already pro!
Now it won't turbo charge either.

That depends whether you're a pro user or not. If you are, you should follow the instructions at the beginning of the thread. The pro version of beta 4.1.7 can be dwnlded from your personal dwnld page after you login in.

Hi LOTR
the jum versions are not very different. Think of it as a pre-beta beta.

--a different installer (drag and drop from the dmg rather than a double-click installer). This helps troubleshoot/check installer issues

--it's built from the CVS, so includes all the changes (many not fully tested) at that time (handy for checking out new inclusions between official releases).

--other changes (Jens-Uwe listed them here

Jens-Uwe has given us OS X users who don't know enough to compile our own versions an easy way to use the CVS versions, and he gives his changes and fixes back to the project. Much appreciated.
