Are you trying to download MIDI audio loops?

How are you trying to download these files? Are you attempting to do it using Magnetmix?
Or download using a "magnet" link?

If you are having Limewire problem, then update your Java: Java 1.5 (take the JRE)

Can you tell us more detail about your problem?

What is Java?

The problem is this.
There is a file that cannot be downloaded.
It is sometimes displayed, "ƒtƒ@ƒCƒ‹–¼‚É‚¨Žg‚¢‚̃VƒXƒeƒ€‚őΉž‚µ‚Ä‚È‚¢•¶Žš‚ªŠ Ü‚Ü‚ê‚邾‚ß•K—v‚ȃtƒ@ƒCƒ‹‚ðŠJ‚_‚±‚Æ‚ª‚Å‚«‚Ü‚¹‚ñ(A nogood, necessary file being included for the character that doesn't correspond with the system that uses it for the file name cannot be opened)".

trap_jaw4 & sberlin would be able to tell you what Java is better than me.

Java is the program language that Limewire uses to operate. If your version of Java is old, it might have some difficulty with some operations. That is why it should always be kept up to date. Newer Java is faster & better for Limewire. Get newest Java (get the JRE) here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/ja/download.html

If this does not fix your problem, then please tell us.

The new LimeWire 4.3.2 Beta version has brought back the Annotate button which will allow you to change the name of the file (or delete that illegal character) whilst you are downloading it. The description is here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=32416
Get Beta here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml

If you are a Limewire Pro user you will find the link to the Beta at the bottom of your personal download page. :)

Are you using MacOSX or Windows?

For Windows, you can get LimeWire 4.0.7. here:

http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=limewire

Limewire 4.2.6 did take away the annotate button. But it was previously available & will again be available in the next official release Limewire 4.4

There's a few older versions available for both windows & mac found here: http://www9.limewire.com:82/download/
(trap_jaw4 gave a link to only windows versions up to 4.0.7)
