It's happened on all the limewires I've had since I downloaded the new one, I run the Java that came with 4.8, The only thing I've ever "changed" with my limewire is the port and deleting the .limewire file continously.

I use XP and have service pack 1/

Salut Jules, why don't you give LW devs a stack trace (thread about that stickied in the beta forum)? This would help to solve the problem as most people obviously don't experience your problem.

How do I give it a stack track, I get embarrased with this stuff because I use computers as a job and casually, but I am completely Limewire illetirate. And I can't even spell

Jules,

were you sharing a lot of files? Some possible causes of freezing were eliminated in that part of the code. They will be available on Monday.

I don't share, I'm not greedy it's just my one family member is extremely paranoid and advised strongly not too, also I've had my computer hacked in by someone else, not just a virus once before so I'm a little hesitant, plus I have no reason too since as soon as I download a file I transfer it too a different file and sort it accordingly.

When I found out that there was a newer version of LimeWire I thought it would be best to upgrade it (I have 4.9.7.) but after hearing about the problems people have been having with it I think I'll stick to what I have now.
