Default LimeWire 1.8b beta available

A beta version of LimeWire 1.8b is now available for testing at http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/download_beta. This service release fixes some bugs in 1.8:

<ul>
<li>system tray works properly on Win98
<li>matches rich queries and metadata more strictly
<li>chat menu only enabled if host chattable
<li>changing view scrolls to selected result
<li>added ability to sort search results by metadata (e.g., bitrate)
<li>small XML schema updates
</ul>

As always, we welcome any comments or bug reports you might have.

Why not make these update changes more readily available, such as putting the information on the download page.
Why should we have to search through forums just to learn what a new version has to offer?

We announce beta releases on the forums before placing them in the main download area of www.limewire.com. This helps us find any major bugs before release to the wider public.

1.8b is now available for the general public.

Default You've missed my point

I was not referring to the fact of an upgrade, rather to information about what changes there are IN the upgrade.
I see no reason to make that information difficult to locate. It was not available on the download page or on Version Tracker in the case of this latest upgrade.
