I have never been able to get the add shared dir function to work in any limewire version. Now with v1.8 it is cripling since I am no longer able to edit the shared dir line manually anymore like in the old versions.
The problem is that when i choose add, i get the dir navigator window, and i can select the directory I want to share. However when i finally press the select button to add the directory to the list NOTHING happens. The button blinks but the window remains open and the directory is not added.
I am now running WindowsXP but i had the same problem on WindowsME. I have the latest release of the java runtime environment.

PS. Shame on you for making limewire add/spyware!!!

its in the same directory as the limewire app; just open it with notepad and edit the directory setting

make sure to followt the same syntax

I see your problem, you do it the wrong way:

When you klick on "Add Directory", a new Window opens!
Then choose the directory you want to share by clicking it ONES!
It must be marked wit a blue line!
Do NOT open this Directory!
Then click "select"

This way it must go!
