Question Uuload speed limit has gone too ?

Firt of all, three cheers for ultrapeers. It really work, and gives me the same search results as before with only one outbound connection and the fraction of the bandwidth. used previously. Keep it up boys !

Then, some bad news : it appears the upload speed limitation capability of 1.7c has gone, which means any upload eats up all the available upload bandwidth.

This is a very problematic situation for some -like me- who have to precisely manage the outgoing traffic. If Limewire saturates all the company's outbound bandwidth, i clearly can't let it run for a long time before having complaiints.

If you want it to be run quietly in the background to maximise uloand slots, then allow it not to become a nuisance.

I understand you wanted to maximise the upload speed, but for me, no speed limit means shut down the program as soon as i'm finished using it, which is bad for the upload slots count, or go back to 1.7c...please think twice

Otherwise, i didn't get the swarm downoads to work yet, but just a thought : can they periodically start an extra search for a good match to add more sources ? This is a great feature of Morpheus, as it means that once it has "seen" the file, even if the single current source is shut down, it will keep trying on a regular basis and end up -eventually- with a complete file, without user intervention.
I appreciate this tenacite very much, and it also motivates the average user to stay connected longer, knowing the time is used for his profit...see what i mean ? more upload slots

Besides, using the Linux version, i didn't came across the adware/spyware issue. You probably consider it necessary, but i consider it sad.

Kazaa is killing itself with the same kind of commercial drift, as it led them to shut out other clients, and make connection to their server compulsory. It make them a perfect target for lawyers, a central point, something which shouldn't exist in a distibuted network. Please don't ! ads made me shudder, but that little 'buy..." button reminds me of the end of napster :-(

Commercially motivated behavior isn't in the interest of the network, and thus isn't in the interest of the end user...

well, that's it for now. keep up the good work and...think twice about the rest !
