Connection Problems With Mac LimeWire 2.02

I am having major problems getting any good connections with
Mac LimeWire 2.02. By itself the program never opens more than
one connection, which, if I'm lucky has maybe 6 hosts. My
neighbor uses Linux LimeWire 1.8 and usually has six or so
connections with hundreds of hosts and 50+TB of files. I get like
8GB.

I've tried taking IP's I see in the search or upload windows and
adding them. However only maybe 1 out of 20 actually connect,
and often they only last a few seconds.
