why when I download a song my download is re-directed to artsdirect website?

This problem has been fixed with the newest release of LW. You can download it here:

A general advice in regard to downloading. Search results with hundreds of hosts should be avoided. Try those with some 10 or 20 hosts. Stay also away from files smaller than 2 MB (as well as zip, exe, and their likes)

Actually, I'm still getting those artsdirect problems with 4.12.3. As well as files that just say connecting and sit there til I cancel them. It happens even with files that have alot of hosts. Still getting used to the junk filter, takes alot of work to train it.

If that is correct (which I do not doubt), it would mean those who try to misuse the network with those artistdirect re-directions have already adapted whatever they use to get those files appearing in the search results.
Guess, we have to see and wait whether others will report similar experiences.

Of course, the use of the filters will, in the long term, get rid of them anyway; but as you said, that might take some time.....

this site.... artistdirect.com should be destroyed, this is a problem that has intentionally been caused by artistdirect.com, why would I ever use their crappy site? It's not even decent compared to other pay sites. I call for this site's destruction!
