I'm sure this has been asked 62 trillion times.
i want to delete my lime wire library. i want to save what i already have. i did it once before by accident and figured it out. i recently had to reboot my computer due to a lovely little trojan and i forgot exactly what i did to permanently store shared files so they do not delete when i clear lw library. now i for the life of me can't remember wtf i did. i can do everything else i need to but i am just stumped on this. |

I'm guessing your OS is XP.
> Open Limewire & go to the Library tab. > Click on Explore at the bottom to open the Shared folder where the music is stored. > Shut down Limewire (not mandatory, but just to make the transfer smoother). > In the Shared folder, either highlight the file(s) you want moved, or if you want to move them all choose Edit > Select All at the top of the folder. > Choose either Move The Selected Items under the File/Folder Tasks or use File > Select at the top. Note: You may/may not have to click the Folders icon at the top to view the file/folder tasks. > Pick your desired destination from the pop - up window, such as the My Music folder, or a new folder that you may want to create. > Then select Move & wait for the process to complete. This step also removes the files from the library list in Limewire. The short answer would be to copy/paste the files into a new folder & then go back into the shared folder & delete all the files from there. Tip: To make accessing the shared folder easier (if you should want to do this again in the future): From within the shared folder: > Click on the Folder icon at the top to open the folder tree on the left. > Right click on Shared, which should be highlighted, & choose the Send To > Desktop option. I have downloaded a lot of music from LW, although it is not in my LW library, because I have moved it to a different folder.
The only files in my LW library are files that have remained in the original download folder, although these are not the only files that I share. Soooo...try moving all of your downloads to a new folder and see what happens. Good luck
