Hello, I am new to all of this and have the same question. Which Java download?

Remoc April 13th, 2007 06:50 PM

I believe Dark Guy said in post # 7 That it is the JRE 6u 1. That is the one you want to download

Grandpa April 13th, 2007 07:08 PM

Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u1

sailinship April 14th, 2007 08:59 AM

OK, thanks REMOC, but when I go to load it I am asked what features I want to install. I chose SE developement kit 6 update 1. Is that correct?

Remoc April 14th, 2007 10:22 AM

Hey ship, If your using windows, you want to download Java Runtime Enviro. Not JDK. This is what you want to look for JRE-6u-1 windows-i586-p-iftw.exe. Be sure you use the offline installer, not the recomended online installer.

sailinship April 14th, 2007 11:39 AM

Ok, but I already downloaded this jdk-6u1-windows-i586-p-iftw.exe, should I try to find and remove it?

sailinship April 14th, 2007 01:12 PM

OK, so I did just what was told and I did not see a .exe file on my desktop, where new downloads should show up. How do I know if I did it right?
