Unhappy need help uninstalling limewire

I 'uninstalled' limewire, now a pop up window shows up about evey 2 minutes saying 'one or more appears to be invaled, corrupt installation & to redownload again. I dont even want limewire, but I have tried to redownload anyways to hopefully fix this problem. It has told me to check my firewall settings, but it wont let me access that either. I found 12 folders for limewire in my 'C' drive that it wont let me delete. My computer is running horribly slow no & I cant even load certain pages or sites. What can I do? Please help....

sounds like a virus but try starting your computer in safe mode then try to delete any traces of LW.

Windows users should uninstall LW via start > all programs > Limewire > uninstall or C:\Program Files\Limewire\uninstall. If you've tried to uninstall via add/remove programs, that can cause some problems & in that case use your computer's search to look for all files & folders with limewire in the name. Delete what you find.

Sounds like you have a worm. There's a fix here to try, it's worked for a lot of people. Click on the link below.

Always make sure that you're using a good AV program. Keep it updated & use it to scan all files that you download before you open them.
